Panthers Bounce Back Past Pirates (Brought to You by Cafe Erica)

After last week's last second, heart-breaking loss to Notre Dame, the Saucon Valley Panthers found themselves in a bit of a tailspin losing back to back games. Coming into this Colonial league finale against the powerful Palisades Pirates (7-3), it didn't seem as if things would get any easier for the Panthers.  With the "Bicentennial Trophy" and bragging rights in this rivalry game on the line, the Panthers had more than enough work cut out for them as the Pirates have a stout defense and were averaging 45 points per game.

After last week's heartbreaking, final-seconds loss against Notre Dame, the Saucon Valley Panthers (7-2) return home for what will be another Friday night football slugfest against the Palisades Pirates (7-2).

FC Steel, a youth soccer organization that is headquartered in Saucon Valley, had many of their programs in action over the weekend in league play.  Both FC Steel boys' and girls' teams are participating in the prestigious Eastern Development Program (EDP) this year.  The EDP league is an ultra-competitive travel soccer league that arranges for high-level teams to compete against one another on a routine basis.

Panther Play of the Week: Sorensen’s Diving Catch for the Lead (Brought to You by Hellertown Bakery)

It was another tough loss for the Panthers in what was the Colonial League championship game.  Saucon played their hearts out, but came up just short. Nonetheless, the Panthers did make a bunch of awesome plays worthy of any highlight reel.  Here, we share a play-action, bootleg pass from Dante Mahaffey (#12) to Dale Sorensen (#44).  It was an athletic throw with a spectacular catch in the back of the Panther end zone.

Panthers & Crusaders Battle To Bitter End For League Title (Brought to You by Cafe Erica)

After last week's homecoming beatdown by the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers giving Saucon Valley their first loss of the season, the Panthers found themselves in the virtual Colonial League title game against the Notre Dame on Friday night.  Even with one week remaining on the regular-season schedule, the result of the Panther v. Crusader matchup would essentially determine the 2018 Colonial League champions.

The Friday night CHAMPIONSHIP lights will be burning bright at Notre Dame Green Pond as the Crusaders (7-1) will play host to the Saucon Valley Panthers (7-1).  After last week's clunker of a loss to Northwestern Lehigh, Saucon Valley is expecting to rebound and bring a four-quarter slugfest to the Crusaders.

It was a tough loss on Homecoming night for the Saucon Valley Panthers.  Saucon needed to play a near-perfect game against the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers, but they just couldn't get it done.  Nonetheless, the Panthers did make a bunch of awesome plays worthy of any highlight reel.  Here, we share a touchdown pass from Dante Mahaffey (#12) to Justin Kyra (#22).  It was a beautiful throw with a spectacular catch in the back of the Panther end zone.

Week Eight Krunch Time: Kelvin catches a Tiger (Brought to You by The Waldheim Beethoven Club)

Northwestern Lehigh Tigers.  This game however, like the others, had many Krunch-Time! options.  Even though there were many high-flying offensive plays, we decided to go with defense on a night when the Panthers could have used more of it.
