Just in time to help borough residents beat the heat, the Fountain Hill Pool reopened Thursday following a nearly three-year closure. The facility had fallen into disrepair, and a coalition of volunteers in partnership with the borough spent the past year-and-a-half planning and completing renovations that paved the way for the pool to once again welcome swimmers of all ages.
Saucon Valley seniors turned their tassles to become high school graduates at the school district stadium Friday night, and with that embarked on exciting new chapters that will include college, military service, jobs, families and much more. Hundreds of family members and friends packed the bleachers to watch the ceremony, which was held on a pleasantly mild, sunny May evening.

A violent thunderstorm struck Fountain Hill and other parts of the Lehigh Valley as the Thursday morning rush hour was taking place, leaving downed trees, wires and other damage in its wake. Numerous roads in Lower Saucon Township were temporarily closed due to damage from the storm.
