Panthers Face Cougars In PIAA State Playoff (Brought to You by Andrew & Sonya Hughes)

It was a PIAA state playoff game that was originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday at Northampton High School.  But with the crazy weather pattern this past week the game was postponed three times.  Finally on Friday, the Panthers and Springfield Cougars were able to avoid the thunderstorms and face off at Emmaus High School to see who would advance to the quarterfinal round of the PIAA State Championships.

Ironmen Clash With Lady Panthers In Regular Season Finale (Brought to You by Andrew & Sonya Hughes)

On Friday, the Lady Panthers played host to the Danville Ironmen.  Danville, who are out of PIAA’s District IV, entered this matchup against the Panthers with a 15-2 record.  Their two losses were by a combined six goals.  The Ironmen fell 16-11 to Trinity (Camp Hill) on March 30th.  They also dropped an 11-10 heartbreaker to Lake Lehman on April 16th.  The Lady Ironmen were accustomed to scoring 20 goals per game and giving up only five.  On paper, it looked as if this would be a competitive test for the Panthers.

Lady Panthers Persist In LAX Classic (Brought to You by Andrew & Sonya Hughes)

It took twenty-three hours to determine the winner of the high school girls lacrosse contest between the Saucon Valley Panthers and Southern Lehigh Spartans. Lightning crashed the party after halftime on Tuesday night leading to the remainder of the game being postponed and left to resume on Wednesday afternoon.  The game was an intense battle by two quality and competitive programs.  The Saucon Creek rivalry is indeed alive.

Blue Eagles Clipped By Lady Panthers (Brought to You by Andrew & Sonya Hughes)

The Saucon Valley girls lacrosse program seems to be at the top of their game right now.  The Panthers started the season red-hot with a 6-0 record including a signature win over the Easton Red Rovers (13-3).  In game seven, Saucon did drop a tough one to a quality Freedom Patriot (13-4) opponent.  But, since stumbling to Freedom, the Panthers rattled off another six straight victories heading into Monday’s clash with the Nazareth Blue Eagles.

After making the trek north to the Wilkes Barre area and leaving with a 20-2 win over the Crestwood Comets on Thursday, the Saucon Valley Lady Panthers returned home for what figured to be a tight competition against the Emmaus Green Hornets on Saturday.  The proud Lady Hornets were looking to secure a winning season while the Panthers are trying to hold on to the #1 seed in the upcoming District XI tournament.  The stage was set for a classic.
