Missing Hellertown Cat Returns Home After 4.5 Years

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

An orange cat who disappeared from his Hellertown home more than four years ago returned home Monday, his owner’s sister reported in a Facebook post.

Amy Campbell-Musser solicited help from friends, family, the community and the local media when her brother’s family’s pet cat, Scruffy, went missing in early 2011.

The search continued for months, but eventually hope that he would be found began to fade.

Until Monday.

That’s when Scruffy appeared at Musser’s brother’s neighbor’s door, she said.

“He’s back home,” she wrote. “(It’s) just a reminder to never give up hope.”

On Facebook, friends have called the cat’s return after so much time “a miracle.”

Scruffy the cat likely experienced many adventures during his 4.5-year sojourn.
