I-78 Traffic Stop Yields $19,000, Heroin, Police Say

A traffic stop conducted by Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast on I-78 in Lower Saucon Township Wednesday morning led to the discovery of 50 bags of heroin and $19,000 in cash.

A traffic stop conducted by Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast on I-78 in Lower Saucon Township Wednesday morning allegedly led to the discovery of 50 bags of heroin and $19,000 in cash, Lehigh Valley Live reported.

According to an article published by the newspaper, Luis A. Alvarez-Hernandez, 31, of Highspire, Dauphin County, was arrested on charges of heroin possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

He faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge David Tidd March 30, according to online court records.
