It may be hard to believe, but it’s been a decade since The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley opened in Upper Saucon Township and greatly expanded the shopping and dining options available to Hellertown and Lower Saucon residents.
In recognition of the outdoor lifestyle center’s 10th anniversary, the Promenade Shops will host a special day-long celebration Saturday, Oct. 29.
“Join us for a bounty of free fall fun including live music, strolling entertainment, contests, giveaways, special offers and in-store events,” a post on the Promenade Shops website states.
Some highlights of the day include:
- Wagon Rides from 12 to 6 p.m. at the Patio Food Court. Enjoy a free horse-drawn wagon ride along Main Street. Wagon rides are first come, first served.
- A Halloween Dance Party for Kids from 2 to 3 p.m. on the patio outside Carmike Cinemas. Join the party and come in costume for monster music and dancing. The first 100 kids at the party will receive a free treat courtesy of Carmike Cinemas.
- Fall Kids Activities from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Patio Food Court. Enjoy an hour of family-friendly activities including balloon artists, airbrush tattooing and face painting. The L.L. Bean Bootmobile will be parked at the food court during this time.
- Live Music and Giveaways from 3 to 5 p.m. in Town Square. Enjoy a live performance by the James Supra and Sara Ayers Quartet, a food sample from The Fresh Market, and receive a free copy of Lehigh Valley Style magazine. There will also be a free gift giveaway and prizes from select Promenade shops (while supplies last).
During the Celebration event many stores and restaurants in The Promenade Shops will be offering deals and specials for customers, and/or hosting events. Below are a few examples (visit the Promenade Shops website for the complete list of specials):
- AT&T: Enjoy 20 percent off any one accessory.
- Barnes & Noble: Join B&N at 11 a.m. for If You Give a Mouse a Brownie Storytime and activity followed by the Community Music School’s Monster Concert with an instrument Petting Zoo and Raffles from noon to 3 p.m.
- Capital Blue: Join Capital Blue for a book-signing of Pumpkin Pie Surprise with local author Roey Ebert from noon to 2 p.m. Kids can also participate in a pumpkin coloring contest and enjoy free healthy Halloween treats!
- Cosi: Come in costume and receive 10 percent off your purchase.
- Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory: Receive 10 percent off your purchase.
- GNC: Enjoy 15 percent off all in store purchases. Gold Card customers making a purchase during the event will be entered to win a Sports Nutrition Basket with a $200+ retail value.
- Hair Cuttery: Receive $3 off retail sales.
- J. Jill: Participate in an in-store raffle for a chance to win a $100 Gift Card.
- Learning Express: Enjoy an in-store scavenger hunt for Cool Cash and meet with Peppa Pig.
- Red Robin: Kids can enjoy a free Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. Winners will receive a free Kids Sundae.
