Nathan E. Meilinger, 61, of Hellertown, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township.

Nathan E. Meilinger, 61, of Hellertown, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Gail J. (Zielinski) Meilinger. He was born in Fountain Hill on Sept. 20, 1955 to the late John and Ellen L. (Smullin) Meilinger. Nathan worked in produce for area grocery stores, most recently at Super Food Market Place, Allentown, and Valley Farm Markets for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 17 years; children: Claudia M. (Pietro) Multari of Hellertown, Gregory T. of Allentown; siblings: Rodney J. Meilinger, (Twin Sister) Noreen E. (Eugene E.) Fernandez, all of Hellertown; grandson: Luciano A. Multari; step-grandson: Pietro A. Multari. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law: Christine M. Meilinger.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Thursday morning will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

CONTRIBUTIONS

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nathan’s grandson, Luciano A. Multari, for his education, care of the funeral home (zip code 18055) and/or do a good deed for a friend or neighbor in Nathan’s memory.
