Josephine E. Stohl, 89, formerly of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 at Cedarbrook, Fountain Hill.

Josephine E. Stohl, 89, formerly of Hellertown, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 at Cedarbrook, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late William F. Stohl Sr., who died July 27, 1990. She was born in Bethlehem on Nov. 24, 1927 to the late Salvadore and Margaret (Thomas) Ponticelli. Josephine was a bookkeeper for the former Morris Jewelry Store, Bethlehem, and Grants Department Store, Hellertown. She was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown, and volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Theresa’s Women’s Guild, New Beginnings Thrift Store and as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. Josephine was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

SURVIVORS

Sons: William F. Jr. (Christina) of Swampscott, Mass., Daniel P. (Bonnie) of Hellertown, Michael W. (Laura) of Coopersburg; siblings: Rosemarie Deutsch of Downingtown, James in Florida; grandchildren: Matthew, Kelly, David, Benjamin; great-grandchildren: Meredith, Evan, Alaina, Jacqueline, Emma, Ally, Greg. She was predeceased by a sister: Marguerite.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa’s, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
