Each year area Catholics and others eagerly await the start of Friday night Lenten fish dinners at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Hellertown.
This year the first dinner will be held Friday, March 3, which is the Friday after Ash Wednesday.
Dinners will be held each Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the church basement from March 3 through April 7.
As usual the menu will include baked breaded or unbreaded white fish, French fries or baked potato, peppered slaw, French bread with butter, ice cream, a beverage and coffee/tea.
There will be an option to purchase a meal of 2 crab cakes in place of the fish.
A la carte items will include Manhattan clam chowder, potato soup, pierogies, mac-n-cheese with or without stewed tomatoes and pizza.
Note: Children under 12 can choose between fish or pizza along with ice cream and soda.
Prices for 2017 will be announced in the coming weeks.
