A Lower Saucon Township man has been charged with DUI after police say he allegedly drove into an exterior apartment building wall in his complex last month.

In a news release Wednesday, police said Michael Dougherty, of the 3000 block of Scenic View Lane, was taken into custody just after midnight July 1, after witnesses reported the accident at 3043 Scenic View Lane.

Police said Dougherty claimed he was a passenger in the vehicle rather than its driver.

His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was found to be .21 percent, which is nearly three times the legal limit of .08 percent, police said.
