Although the final result of Friday night’s football game versus rival Southern Lehigh wasn’t what Saucon fans had hoped for, the annual Homecoming game was still a fun-filled family event, and included the crowning of the 2017 Homecoming queen.
Senior Olivia Gardiner was honored with the title, which was announced during the game during an on-field ceremony in which she received her sash and crown from last year’s queen, Madison Stump.
Gardiner lives in Lower Saucon Township and is the daughter of Hal and Sherril Gardiner. Her father, Hal, was her escort.
At school she has participated in cross country (4 years), track and field (5 years), band (9 years), choir (7 years) and musical theater (2 years).
Her future goals include attending college and majoring in nursing, traveling and working in clinics in underprivileged countries. She said she would then like to settle down, get married and raise a family.
Her best Saucon moments have included the band and choir trip to Disneyworld and creating special memories with her best friends.
The 2017 Saucon Valley Homecoming King–who was crowned at Thursday night’s Community Pep Rally–is senior Kyle Kalinchock.
The other members of this year’s Homecoming Court included Kate Appel, Brynn Bambu, Ashley Bedner, Payton Johnson, Amanda Meadows, Madison Zych, Hannah Housenick, Patrick Beatty, Damian Dziadowicz, Sean Fenoff, Kevin Hernandez, Zach Petiet, Steven Rose and Alstan Wolfe.
