The Starbucks in the Giant Food Store on Leithsville Road in Lower Saucon Township was the apparent victim of a counterfeiter over the weekend, according to police.

In a post on their Facebook page, the township police department said a Hispanic man in his 20s entered the store at approximately 3:46 p.m. Saturday and went to the Starbucks counter, where he placed an order.

“The suspect pays with the counterfeit $100 (bill) and the cashier gave the suspect approximately $80 in cash as change,” police said.

Police said the man then left the store and got into a small gray sedan with another male occupant before fleeing the area with the change obtained by passing the phony note.
