The start of the Dewey Fire Co. 100th Anniversary Carnival is now less than a month away, and chairman Dave Heintzelman issued an updated schedule of events for the highly-anticipated six-day festival last week.
In it, he noted that the planned color run has been canceled due to a lack of support. It’s possible that a color run will planned during a future carnival, he said.
This year’s carnival will be held Tuesday, July 14 to Sunday, July 19 in and around Hellertown’s Dimmick Park. It will feature numerous special events, including the first-ever Bikefest headlined by reality TV star Paul Teutel Sr., a firemen’s parade, a classic car show/cruise, concert performances by the Willis Clan and numerous local bands, and a free community picnic.
A fireworks extravaganza is also planned for Friday night, July 17.
All concerts will be held rain or shine (a large tent will be provided).
