The road to having a fireworks show in Hellertown this year has not been an easy one, but thanks to unprecedented financial support from local residents and businesses, it’s now looking likely that the boomers will explode high above the borough in late August.

On Tuesday, I pulled into the packed parking lot of the 2019 Dewey Fire Company Carnival ready to eat, drink, ride and play at an event that epitomizes small-town fun on a summer night. I wasn’t disappointed.
The annual Dewey Fire Company Carnival is under way in Hellertown’s Dimmick Park as temperatures continue to climb to near record levels. The carnival is open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. through Saturday, July 20.

The Dewey Fire Company Carnival in Hellertown’s Dimmick Park continues through Saturday, July 21. The carnival will be open Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for 10 p.m. Friday (rain date: Saturday at 10 p.m.).
