Shirley A. Muldowney, 71, of Hellertown, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Shirley A. Muldowney, 71, of Hellertown, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of Larry J. Muldowney. She was born in Fountain Hill on July 30, 1944 to the late Charles Opdyke and Frances (Moser) Clement. Shirley was a receptionist at Dr. Moscato’s office, Bethlehem Township, for five years; a cafeteria worker at Saucon Valley Elementary School for 10 years; and a seamstress who retired as a floor lady at Dora Lee. She was a faithful member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, where she taught Bible and Sunday schools. She was also a member of the First UCC Quilters and helped with luncheons and dinners at the church.

SURVIVORS

In addition to her loving husband of 54 years; children: Mark J. (Joanne L.) Muldowney of Center Valley, Brenda J. (Joseph M.) Amelio of Hellertown; Colleen K. Yob of Hellertown; siblings: David (Judy) Moser of Richlandtown, Mary Ellen (Anthony) Nauroth of Hellertown, Connie (Frank) Rodriguez of Nebraska, Sandra Miller of Hellertown; mother-in-law: Edith L. (Solliday) Muldowney of Hellertown; seven grandchildren: Andrew, Joshua, Jason, Jacob, Courtney, Alexandria, Dylan; faithful companion: Kallie. She was predeceased by sister: Nancy L. Roth.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Friday will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
