A car is stopped near a home in the 1500 block of Main Street, Hellertown, after apparently running off the road.

Hellertown Police were on the scene of an accident in the 1500 block of Main Street Sunday afternoon, in which a car went off the road and came to a stop in the front yard of a home.

Damage to the car’s front bumper–visible in a reader-contributed photo–would seem to indicate that the vehicle struck the front porch of the building.

Photos from the scene show a silver or dark grey sedan stopped at the corner of the porch, just south of the brick home, which is atop a small knoll at a bend in Main Street.

That bend has been the scene of numerous accidents in the past, including accidents which have resulted in the loss of power to residents of the neighborhood.

Witnesses said there did not appear to be any serious injuries as a result of the accident.

This story will be updated if/when additional information becomes available.
