Two New Jersey men are facing charges after Hellertown police say they were allegedly involved in a drug-related rollover accident in the 700 block of Main Street on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 20.

In a news release issued Monday, police said the driver of the vehicle that crashed near Hampton Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. was Jack Jasper Moore III, 31.

According to police and court records, Moore, of Salem, Salem County, N.J., has been charged with DUI-controlled substance, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, and cited for careless driving.

A passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident was Nicholas Pablo Hernandez, 21, police said.

Hernandez, of Toms River, Ocean County, N.J., is charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police and court records.

Following a preliminary arraignment Thursday, Hernandez was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail, court records state.

Moore was also arraigned Thursday and was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail, according to court records.

Both men remained incarcerated as of Monday and are scheduled to have preliminary hearings in district court in Lower Saucon Township early next month, the records indicated.
