Saucon Valley schools celebrated our social diversity with its first ever Multicultural Potluck.

The Saucon Valley School District is committed to providing students with educational experiences to support and learn about each other’s cultures and celebrate our differences.  So, on March 27th, the Saucon Valley Middle School Inclusion Group along with the high school Spirit Group hosted their first Multicultural Potluck.

Lehigh University’s Mariachi Band kicked the night up a notch!

The night consisted of food, music, art and performances by the Irish Stars from the Parker School of Irish Dance, Lehigh University Belly Dancing Club,  Lehigh University’s Dance Club and Mariachi Montana del Sur (Lehigh University’s South Mountain Mariachi Band).

A great crowd showed up for SVSD’s first ever Multicultural Potluck.

We had over 250 people in attendance who contributed homemade food and shared an evening of camaraderie and fellowship. The delicious food truly reflected the unique story of our families’ heritages. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about one another and the rich experiences we all bring to our learning community.

SVSD Superintendent Dr. Craig Butler offered his opening remarks at the Multicultural Potluck.

We are grateful for the attendance and support of our learning community families, district administration, school board, and PTG as well as our faculty and staff. Without their support, the evening would not have been such a success.

There was no shortage of good eats representing different parts of the world.

We would like to offer a special thanks for the following restaurants and businesses which made donations to help make our night possible!

  • Braveheart Highland Pub – Hellertown, PA
  • Crossroads –  Hellertown, PA
  • DiMaios  – Hellertown, PA
  • Feasta Pizza –  Hellertown, PA
  • Giant –  Hellertown, PA
  • Kome –  Center Valley, PA
  • Roma Pizza – Hellertown, PA
  • Sal’s Brick Oven Pizza –  Bethlehem, PA
  • Tulum –  Bethlehem, PA

Our Most Sincere Thanks,

The Inclusion Committee

It was a unique night with a wonderful cause.

It was not a good night to diet.

Food, music and art. This night had it all.

A little dancing never hurts either.
