A man who allegedly crashed the car he was driving in the 2600 block of Wassergass Road the morning of March 25 has been charged with DUI and cited for traffic violations, after Lower Saucon Township Police say they determined he was heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident.

In a news release Thursday, police said Eric Scott Johnson, 46, of Hellertown, was administered coordination exercises as part of a field sobriety test following the 11:37 a.m. accident; tests he allegedly failed.

Johnson was then taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center, where police say his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was found to be. 35 percent, or more than four times the legal limit of .08 percent.

Court records have not yet been updated to include additional information about the charges against Johnson.
