Sara A. (Mast) Clooney, 94, passed away in the home she loved for 71 years on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Sara A. (Mast) Clooney, 94, passed away in the home she loved for 71 years on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.Clooney Obituary She had just celebrated what would have been her 73rd wedding anniversary. Her loving husband, Thomas, preceded her in death six years earlier. Sara graduated from Liberty High School in 1942 and then attended Bethlehem Business School. The Clooneys were some of the original residents of the Mountainview area of Hellertown. Sara worked for Bethlehem Steel Co. for many years in the Claims Department. She often rode the bus to work as it picked her up right at the corner. A milestone was when she earned a parking space in the Third Street parking lot for Steel employees for her years of service. Tom and Sara enjoyed many cruises to the Mediterrean, Adriatic and the islands of the Caribbean. They often enjoyed traveling with their daughters to Ireland, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Canada and Russia.

SURVIVORS

Tom and Sara spent their retirement years with their children: Jayne, of Camp Hill and Bethlehem and granddaughters Elizabeth (Ryan) of London, England and Angela (Mike) of Williamsport and great-grandsons Trey and Hayden; Rosemary (Bob) of Bethlehem and granddaughter Heather; Janet (Paul) of Victoria, B.C., Canada and granddaughter Rachel of San Francisco and grandson Aaron of Ottawa,, Ont., Canada; Laura of Virginia Beach and granddaughters Kristen of Portland, Ore., and Alison of Corpus Christie, Texas, and Rebecca of Blacksburg, Va.

SERVICES

Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park cemetery on Linden Street in Bethlehem.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
