A 25-year-old Upper Saucon Township man has been charged with corruption of minors, luring a child into a motor vehicle, indecent assault of a child under 13 and unlawful sexual contact with a minor after authorities say he posed as a 15-year-old boy in an online chat session in order to lure a 12-year-old girl to his van in Whitehall Township.

The Morning Call reported Tuesday that the vehicle is where Paul Bradshaw Harrington, of the 3600 block of Oakhurst Drive, allegedly sexually assaulted the girl in mid-July.

The newspaper report indicated that earlier this year Harrington pleaded guilty to sexual solicitation of a minor in Frederick County, Md., and said it was unclear why he wasn’t in prison at the time of the alleged assault in Whitehall, since he was sentenced to one year in jail in that case.

Following a preliminary arraignment Monday before District Judge Tom Creighton, Harrington was sent to Lehigh County Prison, where he remains incarcerated in lieu of $50,000 bail according to court records.

A preliminary hearing before Creighton is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24 at 8:30 a.m.
