So says the National Weather Service, which is predicting that the coldest air of the season so far will descend on Saucon Valley over President’s Day weekend.

According to a Feb. 9 Hazardous Weather Outlook from the NWS, “bitterly cold wind chills of 15 to 20 below zero (are possible) late Saturday into Sunday.”

In Hellertown Saturday night’s actual low temperature is forecast to be -2, and Sunday’s high is forecast to be just 14.

The average high temperature at this time of year is 38 degrees and the normal low is 21 degrees.

The cold weather forecast is part of a rollercoaster winter in the Lehigh Valley that’s included both the warmest December on record and the biggest snowfall on record.
