Man ‘Acted Out,’ Set Off Fire Extinguisher, Police Say

A Lower Saucon Township man was charged with criminal mischief and recklessly endangering another person after police say he discharged a fire extinguisher inside a group home in the 2500 block of Applebutter Road Thursday for no reason.

A Lower Saucon Township man was charged with criminal mischief and recklessly endangering another person after police say he discharged a fire extinguisher inside a group home in the 2500 block of Applebutter Road Thursday for no reason.

In a news release police said Darnell Tyree Woods, 26, “was acting out” when he allegedly discharged the 10 pound extinguisher inside the building at around 7:20 a.m.

After being taken into custody, police said Woods was arraigned before District Judge David Tidd and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $500 bail.

Police identified the victim of the incident as Mainstay North Cornerstone, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, which is the owner-operator of the group home.

Woods has recently been charged for alleged incidents at the home at least twice before:
