The program will include two lectures as well as question-and-answer sessions and a book-signing.

Enns, a professor at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa., will be lecturing on and discussing his recent book, ā€œThe Sin of Certainty.ā€

With insight and humor, Enns explores what goes wrong when we have ā€œbelieving the right thingsā€ at the center of our faith and what, instead, should be standing there, the church said in a news release about the talk.

ā€œFor those who have experienced their once rock-solid beliefs beginning to falter, Enns offers hope and guidance for finding a more trustworthy anchor,ā€ it said. ā€œBy exploring scripture and reflecting on his own journey, Enns reveals that challenges and crises of faith may be opportunities for deepening our faith.ā€

Enns is the originator of the popular podcast, ā€œThe Bible for Normal People.ā€

Enns (PhD, Harvard University) is Abram S. Clemens Professor of Biblical Studies at Eastern and the originator of the popular podcast ā€œThe Bible for Normal People,ā€ which has been billed as ā€œThe Only God-Ordained Podcast on the Internet.ā€

He is the author of numerous books and articles, including ā€œThe Bible Tells Me So: Why Defending Scripture Has Made Us Unable to Read It,ā€ and his blog posts cover topics as diverse as ā€œFaith and Life,ā€ ā€œDoubtā€ and ā€œAha Moments.ā€

The cost to attend the Pete Enns program is $20 and includes lunch.
