Man Smashed Windows to Get Into Apple Street Home, Police Say

An Easton man was charged with burglary and other offenses after he allegedly smashed windows in order to enter a home in the 2100 block of Apple Street where a resident has an active protection from abuse (PFA) order against him, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Wednesday. According to police, John Placotaris, 50, of the 1600 block of Washington Street, broke into the home shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday. The Express-Times–citing court records–reported that the home is Placotaris’ mother’s, and that he allegedly told police he broke in because he wanted the keys to her car and some of his belongings. After officers responded to the home, police said they located Placotaris in a shed on the property and took him into custody. Placotaris has also been charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief, according to the news release.
