Hellertown Police said Tuesday that a man wanted by authorities in both Virginia and Indiana was arrested and charged with loitering and prowling (two counts) and providing unsworn falsification to law enforcement last month.Both charges are misdemeanors.
A Lower Saucon Township restaurant, nightclub, bowling alley and entertainment venue was the scene of a burglary over the weekend, police announced in a news release posted on their Crimewatch website Monday.
A 35-year-old Lower Saucon Township resident is out $3,100 in cash, after police say someone forced their way into her home and stole the money along with other items sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 12:05 a.m. Friday, while she was out shopping.
Lower Saucon Township Police said Saturday they are investigating a burglary in the 2500 block of Applebutter Road, although nothing appeared to be missing from the residence that was entered by force.

An Easton man was charged with burglary and other offenses after he allegedly smashed windows in order to enter a home in the 2100 block of Apple Street where a resident has an active protection from abuse (PFA) order against him, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Wednesday. According to police, John Placotaris, 50, of the 1600 block of Washington Street, broke into the home shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday. The Express-Times–citing court records–reported that the home is Placotaris’ mother’s, and that he allegedly told police he broke in because he wanted the keys to her car and some of his belongings. After officers responded to the home, police said they located Placotaris in a shed on the property and took him into custody. Placotaris has also been charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief, according to the news release.
