Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating an attempted burglary they say occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 2700 block of Valley View Road, near the township’s eastern border with Williams Township.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said officers responded to the home when a burglar alarm was activated shortly after 4 p.m.

Upon checking its exterior, they “discovered than unknown actor(s) attempted to gain entry by prying the rear sliding door open using an unknown narrow blunt instrument,” police said.

The attempt was unsuccessful, and at that point whoever attempted to break in may have been scared off by either the alarm or “two large bull mastiff dogs, or a combination of both,” police added.

Officers canvassed the neighbhorhood but found no other clues about who may have attempted to burgle the home.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area Wednesday afternoon should call township police at 610-317-6110.
