The Water Street Park pavilion is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, a snack or coffee during the Saucon Valley Farmers’ Market.
It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since the Saucon Valley Farmers’ Market first opened next to what was then Keystone Savings Bank (now National Penn Bank) on Main Street in Hellertown.
A lot has changed since 2006, and the predominant change for the market has been growth, which is symbolized this year by its expansion in Water Street Park.
The market was temporarily relocated to the Hellertown Area Library in 2015 while the park was redeveloped with the addition of parking, pathways, a basketball court, public restrooms, water fountains and landscaping.
A park pavilion offers shade as well as picnic tables at which to eat foods purchased at the market.
The Saucon Valley Farmers’ Market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through late November, and is accessible via the Saucon Rail Trail, which is conveniently located along the east side of the park.
Dozens of unique local vendors, live entertainment and special events are highlights each week.
