A Hellertown woman is charged with a first degree misdemeanor count of making terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another person after police say she allegedly threatened to burn a house down in the 100 block of Cedar Road Wednesday.

In a news release Thursday, police said Tamela Ann Boyle, 49, was arrested after officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the home shortly after 5 p.m.

“While police were there (Boyle) threatened to burn the house down” and was arrested, police said in the news release.

Following a preliminary arraignment on the charge before District Judge Alicia Zito Wednesday night Boyle was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $10,000 bail, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing for Boyle is scheduled for Jan. 17 at 9 a.m. beforeĀ  District Judge Alan Mege in Lower Saucon Township.
